01The Service

Onka is a daily task management app for iPhone and Mac. It lets you create, organize, and manage tasks by day, sync them across your devices in real time, and optionally use natural-language AI commands ("Ask Onka") to add or modify tasks.

The Service is operated by Chris Connolly ("we," "us," or "our"). You can reach us at hello@onka.day.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We'll give reasonable notice where we can.

02Your account
  • Sign in with Apple. Onka uses Sign in with Apple exclusively. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Apple ID.
  • One account per person. Your account is personal and non-transferable. You may not share your account or use another person's account without permission.
  • Age requirement. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (16 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable age). By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement.
  • Account security. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Authentication → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. See the Privacy Policy for what gets deleted.
03Subscriptions & payments
  • Free tier. Core features are available at no cost. The free tier has limits on the day window, cross-device sync, and AI usage.
  • Onka Plus. A paid subscription that unlocks the full year view, cross-platform sync, and expanded AI features. Available as a yearly plan.
  • Billing. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not handle your payment information directly. Prices are displayed in the App before purchase.
  • Renewals. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal charges occur within 24 hours of the period end.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel at any time via Apple ID Settings → Subscriptions or through the in-app link in Settings → Plus. Cancelling stops future renewals; you retain Plus access until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their policies. We do not issue refunds directly.
  • Price changes. We may change subscription pricing. We'll give advance notice, and existing subscribers will be notified before any change takes effect.
04Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service by automated means.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or servers.
  • Use the AI features to generate content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, or that violates the rights of others.
  • Circumvent usage limits or quotas through multiple accounts or other means.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without notice where necessary.

05Your content

You own the tasks, notes, and other content you create in Onka. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store, sync, and process your content solely to operate the Service for you.

You are responsible for the content you create. We do not review user content and are not responsible for it.

When you delete your account, your content is permanently deleted from our servers. See the Privacy Policy for details on retention and deletion.

06Intellectual property

The Onka name, logo, app design, and all content we create are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond what is needed to use the Service.

07AI features

The "Ask Onka" feature interprets natural-language prompts and returns structured task actions. It is powered by Google Gemini via Firebase AI Logic.

  • No guarantees of accuracy. AI outputs may be incorrect, incomplete, or unexpected. Always review suggested changes before applying them.
  • Your prompts leave the device. When you use Ask Onka, your prompt and a snapshot of nearby tasks are sent to Google's Gemini API. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
  • Usage limits. Free and Plus tiers have different weekly usage quotas. We may adjust these limits at any time.
  • No training on your data. Per Google's API terms, your prompts and responses are not used to train Google's foundation models.
08Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Task data is synced via third-party infrastructure (Google Firebase); we are not liable for data loss caused by third-party service failures.

You use the Service at your own risk. We strongly recommend keeping your own backups of any critical information.

09Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so the above may not apply to you in full.

10Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the App and your account.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. We will give reasonable notice where circumstances permit.

On termination, your licence to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will do so.

11Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of New York County, New York, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under local mandatory consumer protection law.

12Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. For material changes we'll provide reasonable notice in-app or by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13Apple App Store terms

Because you obtained Onka through the Apple App Store, the following terms also apply, in addition to the rest of these Terms. If there is any conflict between this section and the rest of these Terms with respect to the App Store, this section controls.

  • Acknowledgement. These Terms are concluded between you and Chris Connolly only, and not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Onka and its content. Your use of Onka must comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
  • Scope of licence. The licence granted to you for Onka is a non-transferable licence to use Onka on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, and only as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that Onka may also be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
  • Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for Onka, as required by these Terms or applicable law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services for Onka.
  • Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If Onka fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) you paid for Onka. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to Onka, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are our sole responsibility.
  • Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to Onka or your possession and use of it, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that Onka fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation, including in connection with Onka's use of any third-party software.
  • Intellectual property. In the event of any third-party claim that Onka or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
  • Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Developer contact. Any questions, complaints, or claims about Onka should be directed to us at hello@onka.day.
  • Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using Onka (for example, your wireless data service agreement).
  • Third-party beneficiary. You acknowledge and agree that Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that, upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
